What is Energy Therapy?
The energy therapy is the healing of mental, physical and spiritual elements of our being, by rebalancing the body’s energy fields and using energy techniques to support and enhance the healing process.
Healing takes place through a wide range of activities which together represent a total philosophy around health and wellness like the philosophy of Yin Yang. This philosophy puts energy – in all its forms – at the centre of efforts to achieve a state of wellness.
Energy is not static. Like a rechargeable battery our energy follows a cycle between depleted and replenished according to environment we live in, how we are living and what we are doing which is our lifestyle.
And, while our energy stores are being replenished by rest and relaxation, we can also increase our energy in physical activity. This might seem paradoxical, but actually by engaging in physical activity we are building muscles (which store energy) and we are increasing the capacity of our lungs to take in oxygen and of our blood to carry it around the body to where we need it.

In our bodies there are energy pathways and energy centres (merdians and chakras), the more we understand how this works the more we can optimise our energy management.
We get energy from many and multiple sources – the sun, light, air, water, earth, sleep, food, to name but a few more obvious ones – and energy therapists work with their clients to make use of any of these energy sources to help them try and prevent and support recovery from disease and injury and maintain an optimal state of wellness.
Energy Therapy been around for many centuries has roots in diverse modalities such as chi kung, reiki, reflexology, many various forms of massage and by the teachings of many non-western approaches to disease, pain management, health and well-being. Advances in scientific knowledge about energy, and the development of new technologies, have further opened up the benefits of energy therapy to more people.
